The various types of DEKA competitor levels are defined as:
Age Group is a category where you compete with other age group participants. The Age Group category is great for competitive and noncompetitive athletes and beginners. Participants are eligible for recognition and awards at most DEKA FIT events. There are 13 Age Group ranges for both male and female competitors:
- 10-13 (Youth)
- 14-17
- 18-24
- 25-29
- 30-34
- 35-39
- 40-44
- 45-49
- 50-54
- 55-59
- 60-64
- 65-69
- 70+
*For leaderboard and World Championships qualification, the 10-13 (Youth) Division will have 10-11 & 12-13 male/female categories.
Elite is the most competitive category. Elite participants are eligible for Elite recognition and awards at most DEKA FIT events.
Team allows you to divide and conquer the DEKA course with a partner in 2-person teams, creating a vibrant and fun atmosphere for both elite, age group, and beginners.
A team can consist of 2 adults (ages 14+), 2 youth (Ages 10-13) or 1 adult (age 14+) with 1 youth (age 10-13) with male, female, and co-ed categories.
There are five adult team age groups (adult ages combined).
- 59 & Under
- 60-79
- 80-99
- 100-119
- 120+.
The top 3 overall male/female/co-ed teams along with the top 3 male/female/co-ed teams in each age group are eligible for recognition and awards at most DEKA FIT events.
Ruck challenges competitors to tackle 10 DEKA Zones with a weighted ruck/backpack (30 lbs for males, 20 lbs for females). Honoring military rucking, traditional rucks, or a backpack is required, adding difficulty and requiring new techniques. A limited number of loaner rucks/backpacks will be available on-site
* Weight vests and plate carriers are not allowed.
The top 3 (44 & under) and top 3 in the Ruck Masters Division (Ages 45+) male/female are eligible for prizes from Titan 6 Actual at most DEKA FIT events.
Winners of any heat or category MUST be present at the award ceremony to receive their awards. Awards will NOT be given or mailed out after race day.
