DEKA Affiliate Program (DAP) FAQ

What is DEKA?        

DEKA: from the creators of Spartan™ is the decathlon of functional fitness, featuring training and inspiring competitions designed for ALL fitness levels. The term ‘’deka’’ is derived from the Greek term meaning ‘’ten’’.

DEKA includes 10 Functional Zones (DEKA Zones) creating diverse fitness testing that provides fitness professionals and enthusiasts an objective measurement of fitness performance, which we call the “DEKA Mark.” Ultimately, this benchmark will motivate you to continue to train, test, compete, gamify and celebrate your fitness!

DEKA Fitness Tests, Challenges and Events

DEKA offers 5 different event types:

• DEKA FIT - 10 Zones & 5K Running

  • Each competitor will run 500 meters before entering each zone for a total of 5k of running.

• DEKA MILE - 10 Zones & 1 Mile Running

  • Each competitor will run .1 miles before entering each zone for a total of 1 mile of running. Also, Zones 4 and 8 will be slightly modified. 

• DEKA STRONG - 10 Zones & NO Running

  • There is no running! You will just complete each zone going right from zone to zone. Also, Zones 4 and 8 will be slightly modified. 

• DEKA ULTRA - 50 Zones & 25K Running

  • An amped version of our classic DEKA FIT, the DEKA ULTRA involved completing 5 circuits of our 10 Zone, 5K challenge. The total distance covered is 25K (15.5 miles) 

• DEKA ATLAS - 10 Zones with a 30-minute time cap

  • This is a 10-zone fitness test designed to highlight humans who have a well-rounded strength foundation and strong work capacity engine, and is also an attainable strength test goal for the world to train for.
